My name is C.J. Hayes and I've been an artist as long as I can remember. I've been drawing, painting and doing graphic design work since 1995. In 2011 I expanded into leather smithing, metal smithing and working with EVA foam. I'm very passionate about films and making aesthetically pleasing, durable and high-quality costumes and props. As a veteran of the United States Army and a former law enforcement officer, I believe in attention to detail, strong communication, transparency and completing my tasks in a timely manner. I pride myself on my ability to take an idea and turn it into a tangible item.
My workshop is a private facility located in Portland, Oregon, where I offer the following services:
- Artwork: Concept art for costumes and props, storyboard work, character and prop design
- Custom leather goods: Costume armor pieces and accessories like holsters, belts, belt pouches, vambraces, masks and even some helmets.
- EVA Foam Pieces: For the people who want something lightweight and ornate (not necessarily real armor) I am capable of working with the commonly used medium in the cosplay community, EVA foam.
